OUR SCHOOL
A nurturing international school where children grow connected to nature, community and meaningful learning.
A Welcome from Our Founder
Welcome to Terra Moyo International School.
The name Terra Moyo combines the Latin word for Earth (Terra) and the Swahili word for Heart (Moyo). Together, they reflect something that has always guided our school: a deep connection between children, community and the natural world around us.
Terra Moyo began in 2015 as a small playgroup for my own children and has since grown into a thriving international school community.
"We chose Terra Moyo because it values social and emotional development as much as academics, alongside a strong connection to nature and a nurturing approach to creativity and exploration. We found all of that to be true and were delighted to be part of Terra Moyo's warm and welcoming community."
- Lindsay, parent
Experience Terra Moyo
A glimpse into daily life at Terra Moyo, where curiosity, nature and meaningful learning come together.
The important thing is not simply that every child is taught, but that every child develops the desire to learn.
"Terra Moyo was a great fit for our kids. The teachers are warm and caring and work with each child's interests and unique talents. I loved the emphasis on taking care of our planet and fostering a connection to nature. My two children thrived there."
- Robin, parent
Our Mission & Vision
MISSION
Terra Moyo is a child-centred, nature-connected school where children learn through meaningful experiences, strong relationships and a sense of belonging. We nurture curiosity, independence and a lifelong love of learning while helping children develop a deep connection to themselves, their community and the natural world.
VISION
Growing children who are confident in themselves, connected to nature and inspired to make a positive difference in the world.
Children must be given the time and space to build strong roots before they can spread their wings.
Our Leadership Team
A dedicated team working together to support children, families and staff throughout the school community.

Safeguarding & Wellbeing
Just as young plants and butterflies need the right conditions to flourish, children need to feel safe, supported and valued. At Terra Moyo, safeguarding and wellbeing are woven into everyday school life through caring relationships, attentive staff and strong partnerships with families. We use the Zones of Regulation framework to help children understand emotions, build self-awareness and develop healthy ways to manage their feelings. Our Deputy Head serves as the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring safeguarding remains a priority throughout the school community.
We believe children grow best when they feel emotionally secure, genuinely cared for and free to be themselves.
