OUR HISTORY
Our Story
Terra Moyo began with a simple question: What kind of childhood did I want for my own children?
When my daughters were young, I found myself searching for a learning environment that felt more connected to nature, creativity and community. I wanted a place where children could spend time outdoors, follow their curiosity, build meaningful relationships and develop a genuine love of learning.
In 2015, that vision took shape as a small playgroup for my daughters and their friends. What began as a handful of children learning and exploring together soon attracted other families who shared similar hopes for their children's education. Like a seed planted in fertile soil, the community began to grow.
Inspired by my background in art and design, my passion for environmental sustainability, and a belief that children learn best through meaningful experiences, Terra Moyo gradually developed into the nature-based international school it is today.
Over the years, many families, teachers and children have helped shape the school. Together, we have created a place where education extends beyond classroom walls and where learning can be found in forests, gardens, creative projects, conversations and everyday experiences.
Throughout that growth, the heart of the school has remained the same. We continue to believe that childhood should be valued, that relationships matter, and that learning becomes most powerful when children feel connected to themselves, their community and the natural world around them.
Today, Terra Moyo is home to families from many different backgrounds and nationalities, yet we remain guided by the same vision that inspired those first days: creating an environment where children can grow with curiosity, confidence, kindness and a deep sense of belonging.
Our aim has never been to become the best school in the world, but rather the best school FOR the world.
